Why current tech talent hiring process is so ineffective.

Finding and selecting the best candidate from the pool is one of the most effortful jobs where a wrong decision can lead to a huge long-term loss to the company for both reputation and revenue. The U.S. Department of Labor estimates the average cost of a bad hire as high as 30% of the hire’s initial year’s earning.

It is imperative to understand that recognition and validation of learning and training are the most powerful tools which help to bridge the professional, in particular technical, inequalities and suggest pathways for further development of competencies. Unfortunately, the concept of skill validation has still not been widely understood. However, technical skill validation has seen adaptation among hiring bodies as this systemized assessment procedure measures the competence of the technical applicants to a better extent than traditional screening methods.

Hire Hive Survey findings show that 38% of the hiring is carried out in a rush just to fill in the open positions. Another over 20% of the surveyed population stated, their hires did not live up to the resume or interview expectations.

Rather than being too reactive to make out a successful hire, pre-assessment of technical skills in the hiring process demands time and patience which is hard to find while keeping the focus on the core business.
